About Engineering Entrance Exams

To enter into an IIT, a student now has to clear 2 exams: JEE Mains which is almost similar to the earlier AIEEE and JEE Advanced which is like the earlier IIT-JEE. Based on the JEE Mains and Board Marks cut-off, and a final merit list based on JEE Advanced rank, a student enters into an IIT. But that’s only for the IITs. For NITs & other JEE Mains affiliated colleges, performance in JEE Mains only will be considered for the admission. Other than JEE Mains & Advanced, there is BITSAT, to get into BITS Pilani, Goa & Hyderabad. The syllabus for these exams remains the same. What differentiates them is the level of difficulty.
